With the speed of MotoGP increasing every year, there is already talk of reducing it in the future and Marc Márquez, one of the fastest riders on the grid in the last decade, addressed the issue, presenting a “solution” to do so.
Yesterday, in Losail, the Gresini Racing rider spoke about the subject and said how the reduction of maximum speed can be done: ‘For me, the first thing to do is to reduce the aerodynamics. That will make the bikes slower. What we have to do is work on that. If the bikes are slower, the show will be better. Why? Because people on television don’t realize that if we go at 360 km/h or 340 km/h, we are still going at 300 km/h.’
However, for that, there are a series of rule changes that need to be made, with the Spanish rider looking at the biggest competition on four wheels: ‘But they have to work on the regulations, because they are getting slower and slower. We saw that this year, in all manufacturers; The bike is starting to look more and more like a Formula. So yes, we have to think about that.’
Out of curiosity, the four-wheel competition is attracting more and more former MotoGP riders like Valentino Rossi, Dani Pedrosa, or Jorge Lorenzo.
