Everything indicates that Marc Márquez will be the rider chosen by Ducati for the next MotoGP season. However, for now, everything is just speculation, since nothing has been officially announced.
The only guarantee is that Jorge Martín will not be the chosen one. The current championship leader will move to Aprilia, with the official announcement coming this Monday – somewhat surprisingly.
And this confirmation suggests that Márquez will be the chosen one: after all, why would Ducati let a young talent with future prospects slip away to opt for a more veteran rider, unless it is someone with the media attention of the eight-time world champion?
As for Márquez, he is calm about the future. In statements to the championship’s official website, #93 emphasized that there are options that appeal to him more and it is up to him to give his best:
– This is the big question mark, but I am calm. As I said, I have the same ideas that I mentioned last Thursday here at the GP in Mugello. I am very calm, I am giving 100 percent and I have some situations that I feel comfortable with. So, let’s see. I am just trying to give 100 percent to have more possibilities.
