Álex Márquez’s reign as leader of the MotoGP World Championship was short-lived, with the Spaniard seeing his brother return to the top of the standings after winning the Sprint race at the Qatar GP.

Álex’s advantage, initially for this GP, was just one point and so with Marc’s 12 points he returned to the front, with a total of 98, two more than Álex Márquez.

The one who ended up losing ground was Pecco Bagnaia, who was previously 12 points behind the leader but after being eighth he is now 21 points behind, which is a hard blow for the Italian who keeps alive his hopes of returning to the World title in the category.

Franco Morbidelli was third today and got closer to his friend and rival Bagnaia, with 15 points now separating them. Fabio Di Giannantonio closes the top five of the classification with 48.

Ai Ogura is the top Aprilia in sixth with a total of 28 points, three more than Marco Bezzecchi.

Johann Zarco is the best placed Honda rider, in eighth, with the same 25 points as Bezzecchi, while Fabio Quartararo in ninth is the best Yamaha rider, with 21 points, one more than Luca Marini, in tenth.

Note to Jorge Martín who had his first race of the year today in Doha and has not yet scored any points, and still has a long way to go compared to the competition, who have already had many races and hours on the bike, contrary to what happens with the #1.
