The latest MotoGP paddock rumors point Fermín Aldeguer to Honda for next year and Marc Márquez did not want to go into details but mentioned that the manufacturer needs to focus first on developing the bike.
Asked if Honda’s strategy is to have the rider in their ranks in 2024, the Spanish rider did not want to go into details but assured that at the moment the main focus is to improve the RC213V: ‘It depends on the strategy they want to adopt. I will not get into that plan because I respect them. Of course, they will try to do the best for the project at this moment. And the best for the project is to invest all the money in the bike. That’s what I believe’.
And he continued: ‘Because it doesn’t make sense to have a bike that is not performing well at the moment and [at the same time] have the best rider on the grid. Because in the end, first of all, you need to have the bike and then go get the best rider, regardless of who it is’.
However, Márquez emphasized that this is nothing more than his idea on the subject: ‘Of course, this is my opinion. But they have their own strategy’.
