Manuel González had his third full season in Moto2, and it was undoubtedly the best of his career since moving up to the category in 2022.
After competing with the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team until last year, the Spaniard switched to Gresini, one of the top teams in the championship.
Last year, González had already shown flashes of potential – missing the top ten only six times and achieving his first podium in the category, finishing the championship in eighth place.
In 2024, his potential was confirmed early on. He secured his first career pole position in the second round and reached the podium. After some ups and downs, González had a strong end to the season, with his first victory in Japan and a second-place finish in Barcelona.
His consistency – nine top-five results – earned him third place in the final championship standings. González will move to the Liqui Moly Intact GP team, aiming to now go for the title. He has previously shown he has what it takes to be a champion, winning the European Talent Cup in 2017 and the Supersport 300 World Championship in 2019.
