Manuel González delivered a commanding performance in the first free practice of the Moto2 French GP, dominating nearly the entire session this morning at Le Mans.

In the early stages, six riders briefly held the top spot, but once González (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP/Kalex) took over, he never looked back.

The Spaniard, who also leads the championship, improved his lap time four times before setting a blistering 1m34.916s – the only rider in the 1m34s, and a new all-time Moto2 lap record at Le Mans.

Jake Dixon (Elf Marc VDS/Boscoscuro) surged into second place on his final lap, ending up just 0.102s behind. Tony Arbolino (bLU cRU Pramac Yamaha/Boscoscuro) completed the top three.

Celestino Vietti (Folladore SpeedRS Team/Boscoscuro) was fourth, already over half a second off González’s pace, with Barry Baltus (Fantic Racing Lino Sonego/Kalex) rounding out the top five.
