There are a number of bizarre and seemingly senseless world records out there. For example, the fastest time to eat a burrito is 35 seconds and an individual who thought it would be a good idea to walk barefoot on LEGOs for 3.5 kilometers.
The world of motorcycles also has its share of world records, some very interesting and others quite useless – the legendary Pol Tarres holds several world records, having achieved feats of altitude and jumping aboard various motorcycles. In my opinion, these records are quite impressive.
But there are also other motorcycle world records from people around the world that are not so tough and will make you say, “But… why?”
A good example of this comes from Mumbai, India, where a guy named Pandit Dhayagude decided he wanted to go down in history as the person who was run over by the most motorcycles ever. Of course, being run over countless times by a bunch of motorcycles, no matter how small or light they may be, takes its toll on the human body.
So, Pandit Dhayagude started training his abdominal muscles to withstand the collisions.
On his first attempt, he was run over by 121 motorcycles before passing out, presumably due to the pain of having the motorcycles constantly compressing his ribcage. After more training and determination, Dhayagude broke his record – and perhaps some ribs – on May 7, 2023, after a total of 376 motorcycles ran over him.
For reference, it appears that Dhayagude used a set of Indian Scouts for his record attempt, each of which weighed about 244.9 kg.
That being said, precautions seem to have been taken to minimize injuries to Dhayagude, as the total weight of the motorcycle was never placed on his body thanks to the use of ramps.
A cheeky Instagram commenter was quick to point out this fact, challenging Dhayagude to ditch the ramps in his next attempt. Other commenters began to question the sense of the record.
