Lucas Coenen started strong in the MXGP of Switzerland, part of the MX2 Motocross World Championship. The rider dominated Saturday's qualifying race in Frauenfeld.

This was a race with little to report in terms of competition for the top positions. Lucas Coenen (Nestaan Husqvarna) made the holeshot and led from the first to the last lap, always pursued by his teammate Kay de Wolf.

The Dutch rider tried to pressure the Belgian, but he suffered a hard crash – although he managed to get up quickly, keeping the second place. Lucas Coenen ended up winning with a 9.052s gap over de Wolf.

Without the pace of the top two, Simon Längenfelder (Red Bull GasGas) crossed the finish line in a lonely third place, which he took on the third lap. He was more than nine seconds behind the rival directly ahead. The Red Bull KTM duo completed the top five, with Liam Everts in fourth and Andrea Adamo in fifth.
