In the upcoming season, Luca Marini will compete in MotoGP for the Repsol Honda Team, leaving the Mooney VR46 team. However, he will still be connected to the VR46 Riders Academy.
Uccio Salucci, one of the main figures in Valentino Rossi’s project, explained to the site GPOne.com: ‘His [Marini’s] management will not change. Luca wants to stay with the Academy‘.
With the move to the Repsol Honda Team, Marini will be the third rider trained in the VR46 Riders Academy to reach a factory team, following Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha). However, he is the first to leave Mooney VR46 for an official team.
