After all, Luca Marini may have changed his mind, accepting to move to Repsol Honda in MotoGP in 2024. The Mooney VR46 Racing Team rider rejected this possibility on the sidelines of the Malaysian GP, but may have decided to accept a new offer.
According to Sky Sport, the Italian will have a two-year contract, instead of one like the one that was proposed to other potential candidates for Marc Márquez’s seat. This contract duration was essential for Marini, whose representatives met with Honda last Saturday in Sepang.
Everything indicates that the final details will be defined soon, with an announcement expected this week. If confirmed, Marini will leave the VR46 Racing Team, to be a factory rider for the first time in what will be his fourth season in MotoGP.
