Luca Marini is in his fourth season in the MotoGP World Championship this year, and the start has not been ideal. Honda is facing many difficulties and, in the Americas GP, the Italian was the only one to finish both the Sprint race and the main race.
However, this does not erase a streak of results that is the most negative ever for the rider: three consecutive Grand Prix races without scoring, something that had never happened to him since his debut in the premier class in 2021.
In fact, in the past he only went scoreless in two consecutive rounds at most. And that happened twice, both in his debut year: Qatar GP and Doha GP; and Aragon GP and San Marino GP.
In 2022, and especially last year, Marini was a regular presence in the top ten of races, and during that period he achieved his first two podiums and the first pole positions.
Now, with Repsol Honda, he scored zero points in the first three Grand Prix races of the year. This is largely justified by the poor performance of the bike, which has led the rider to experience an unprecedented streak of results in MotoGP. It had happened to him on more than one occasion in Moto2, the last of which was when he did not score in the last six races of 2017.
