Luca Marini’s debut season as a Repsol Honda rider in MotoGP has not been easy. This weekend, he arrives at the Italian GP in Mugello still without any points scored after six rounds.
Competing in his home country as a factory rider for the first time, the Italian emphasized that he wants to enjoy this round right from the start: ‘Your home GP is always something nice and I am really excited to go there as a Honda factory rider for the first time. I really want to enjoy the weekend with the Italian fans and enjoy their support‘.
The results may not have been particularly encouraging, but Marini felt that there were improvements at the Catalunya GP and wants to continue on the same path – considering that Mugello will be a useful circuit to better understand the bike:
– We progressed in Barcelona and I know we can continue to build on what we found during our private test in Mugello for this upcoming weekend. It’s all about making this progress in each round and continuing to feel better and better. You can understand a lot about the bike in Mugello, so the weekend, and the test after the race, will be very useful for us.
