Luca Marini arrived at Repsol Honda in MotoGP this year, with a contract until the end of 2025. After not scoring points in the first five Grand Prix races, victim of the endless difficulties of the Japanese manufacturer, rumors began to emerge about his departure after this season.
However, that does not seem to be a scenario on the table for the Italian. According to the website Motosan.es, the rider stated to Nico Abad during an event
– It has always been my dream since I was a child, to reach a factory team and develop a perfect bike to win the title. I will never regret it, because it is the right decision for me, also at the moment I made the decision it was correct. It is impossible.
Clearly denying the speculation, Marini emphasized: ‘It’s absurd, I don’t know who started that, but I have never been more sure of my relationship with Honda. We are working hard and I am very happy with my current position. I know the results are not very good, but if you’re not on the podium, all positions behind are the same to me. I want to get there, have a complete package that allows me to be there fighting for the title, and that’s what we’re going to try’.
