Unlike usual, the Qatar GP takes place this weekend, in the final phase of the MotoGP World Championships season. It is the penultimate round of the year, at a renewed Losail circuit that may witness the crowning of the MotoGP champion.
Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) has 13 more points than Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) in the lead. The Italian will be champion if he leaves Qatar with 37 more points than his opponent. Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati) can secure third place, with the 69-point lead he currently holds over Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM).
In Moto2, Pedro Acosta is already champion and Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS/Kalex) secured third place. Therefore, the big fight is for third place. Currently occupied by Jake Dixon (GasGas Aspar/Kalex), but four other riders have mathematical chances to reach there.
Regarding Moto3, Losail could be the stage for Jaume Masiá’s (Leopard Racing/Honda) consecration. The championship leader has a 13-point lead over Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) and if this lead increases to 25 points, he will be the champion. David Alonso (GasGas Aspar), Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3), and Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) also have mathematical chances of surpassing Masiá, but even a victory in Losail may be insufficient for them.
