This year, the Women’s Motorcycle World Championship (WorldWCR) debuts alongside the World Superbike Championship, and the line-up has already been completed. The first round will take place from June 14th to 16th at Imola.
Twenty-four riders have been selected from over 40 who applied. There are some names more familiar than others, but the most prominent is undoubtedly Ana Carrasco – the first woman to win a road racing motorcycle world championship in a mixed category, specifically in the World Supersport 300 in 2018. She will compete for Evan Bros. Yamaha.
All 24 riders will use the same bikes, the Yamaha YZF-R7, but they are operated by various different teams. In total, the championship will have six rounds, also visiting the newest addition Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary.
