Kymco is once again confirming its presence at EICMA and is doing so by bringing numerous new features to its range of scooters. Last year, the Taiwanese manufacturer surprised us with the special SuperNex and RevoNex concepts, a sports bike and an all-electric naked bike.
For 2024, major updates are coming to the Kymco range
Dink X 125
At first glance, the Kymco Dink X 125 looks like an interesting combination of aesthetics and functionality. Modern lines, well-defined details and a riding position designed to ensure comfort and safety.
The liquid-cooled engine develops 15 hp at 8750 rpm and 12 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm and has a particularly linear performance. Of particular note is the availability of the keyless start system. The suspension has been specifically designed for off-road use and consists of a telescopic fork and a pair of shock absorbers. The decision to equip the tires with CST tread guarantees a good level of safety, even on particularly slippery surfaces. As far as the brakes are concerned, the Dink X 125 is equipped with the combined braking system consisting of steel discs at the front and rear.
Downtown 350GT
The structure of the new Kymco Downtown 350GT is characterized by taut lines, which make the design elegant and sporty. Despite this, space for the driver and passenger has not been compromised.
The front of the cabin is home to fully LED headlights with vertical development and turn indicators mounted on the face of the fairing. The side view of the Downtown 350GT confirms its vocation as a cruiser scooter. The footwell allows great freedom of movement, both longitudinally (with multiple supports) and horizontally, thanks to a particularly large available surface area.
The instrumentation’s color TFT screen is a highlight, and thanks to the smartphone connectivity system, you can manage phone calls and messages, as well as view the navigator’s directions. The available screens give access to various information, including the fuel level in the 12.5-liter tank and the outside temperature. Tire pressure can be monitored directly from the screen via the TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) sensors. Cruise control and a lighted under-seat compartment complete the standard equipment.
The 321 cc, 28.3 hp, 30 Nm liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine performs smoothly and linearly, with particularly low vibrations. The consumption declared in the technical data sheet is 26 km/l. Traction control is not absent.
Filly 50
A classic and deliberately retro look, ultra-compact dimensions, top reliability and minimal running costs: this is the calling card with which the new Kymco Filly 50 presents itself, the natural heir to the model that was among the first 50 4-strokes, a true best-seller in its category.
The low ground clearance makes it easy to ride, even for beginners and those who aren’t tall. Its weight of just over 100 kg makes it even easier to ride. The engine configuration favors consumption: with prudent driving, the 40 km/liter mark can easily be surpassed. The frame is based on a telescopic fork and a monoshock, with 12-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear.
The Filly 50 aims to be economical, but without sacrificing anything remarkable. The lighting is entirely LED, and the instrumentation is based on an analog speedometer accompanied by a digital display for secondary information. Two storage compartments are available at the rear of the cabin, the one on the left equipped with a USB socket, very convenient for storing your smartphone.
Sky Town 150 ABS
The Sky Town is the new global scooter designed by Kymco to tackle the city and the heaviest traffic with extremely low fuel consumption, in 150 cc and 125 cc engine versions.
The front of the Sky Town features slender lines and a design that emphasizes its dynamic nature. With LED lighting integrated into the front panel and a large windshield, the sides are slender and connect evenly to the rear of the scooter.
The Sky Town 150’s 150 CC air-cooled engine is completely new, specific interventions have made cooling more effective, to the benefit of the engine’s reliability and lifespan, even when subjected to particularly intense use. With Euro 5+ homologation, the new 150 CC engine has a maximum power of 8.5 kW (approx. 11.5 hp) at 8,500 rpm, with a maximum torque of 11.3 Nm at 6,500 rpm. In addition, the new Sky Town is also available with a 125 cc engine, with an output of 8.1 kW (11 hp) at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 9.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The frame and fairing are the same as those of the 150 cc, so agility and maneuverability are maintained, while also benefiting from the low weight: 117.5 kg for both engines.
The wheels are alloy with 110/70-14 (front) and 130/70-13 (rear) tires, combined with a disc brake system. The 150 cc version of the Sky Town is equipped with ABS, while the 125 cc offers the CBS system. For storage, there is a double front compartment: the left one is open and has a USB socket, while the right one has a press-lock lid. In addition, there is a spacious compartment under the seat that can accommodate a full-sized helmet and other objects.
