The listing of LiveWire on the stock exchange marked not only the moment when the relaunch of the Harley-Davidson spin-off brand began a journey that led – so far – to the presentation of the S2 Mulholland, but also to Kymco’s entry into the share capital, with 4%, through an injection of 100 million dollars.
On this occasion, the Arrow platform was also presented, that is, the powertrain assembly with also structural functions on which the LiveWire range would grow and that we see today in the S2 Del Mar and S2 Mulholland from the American manufacturer. But it was also an opportunity to make it clear that lighter models made in partnership with Kymco, the S3, would arrive in the future.
This moment seems to be getting closer: Kymco has presented over the years some concepts, such as the RevoNex and the SuperNex, but in reality these two motorcycles never went beyond the prototype stage. However, the recent discovery by colleagues at Cycleworld of some patent drawings from Kymco that associate the aesthetics of the RevoNex with the Arrow platform may indicate that the arrival of the hypothetical S3 may now be almost certain.
In the drawings we can see an aesthetic/technical layout close to the RevoNex, which however differs from what was shown in previous concepts precisely because of the frame, which seems to be definitively the monocoque structure of the Arrow that includes the electric motor and batteries, and the seat would also be completely different from what was observed in other bikes based on the same platform. In its latest evolution, the LiveWire S2 Mulholland, the Arrow platform presents interesting features and performance: 63 kW (84 hp) and 263 Nm of torque and a top speed of 160 km/h with an acceleration from 0 to 100 in 3.3 seconds, with a range of about 194 km, although it is not certain that these values reflect the performance of the future S3. In fact, the S4 is also expected: a bike that will likely represent a substantial evolution of the first LiveWire.
