With Brad Binder secured until the end of 2026, Red Bull KTM has another spot open next to the South African, as Jack Miller’s contract ends after the upcoming season. And his continuity is not guaranteed, as the Mattighofen manufacturer prepares to consider the future.
Sports director Pit Beirer explained to SPEEDWEEK.com that he is aware that the KTM RC16 will be a coveted bike and, at the beginning of 2024, there will be important decisions to make:
– We are now in a situation where our MotoGP bike is already very close to the front, so it will be a good option for some of the top riders in 2025. That is why we need to take the right strategic steps now. In the first three months of 2024, we will determine whether we will look for a partner team, two additional spots for 2025 and beyond.
The Austrian stressed that KTM has not yet reached the desired level and the rider is a key part of the success: ‘We entered MotoGP in 2017, improved every year, improved the structures every year, now we are on the podium. But of course, our goal is still to fight for the MotoGP crown. The key to success will be the right rider‘.
