Pedro Acosta will move up to MotoGP in 2024 but after many attempts by KTM to find another team in the category with two more available bikes, the truth is that negotiations have not been going as desired and the “solution” may involve… an alternative proposal and Jack Miller’s “misfortune.”
The international press suggests the possibility of KTM “sacrificing” the rider who only arrived in 2023 to make room for a young prodigy.
On one hand, Brad Binder seems to be secured and is a preference for the manufacturer, which even recently announced the extension of the South African’s contract until 2026, but this could leave Miller in a precarious situation as he is under contract until 2024.
In theory, the future for another season is contractually secure, but the situation could take a turn due to the less successful results by the Australian in recent rounds.
The Moto Sprint website talks about a new possible scenario in which KTM would offer Jack Miller double his current salary to accept the role of test rider alongside Dani Pedrosa, while also enticing him with 10 (!) wildcard entries.
Furthermore, let’s not forget the fact that the satellite team, GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3, still has two riders under contract and it has been mentioned on more than one occasion that #44 is expected to continue riding for the team.
