KTM presented itself at the MotoGP test in Jerez last week with new solutions for its bike. All factory riders (including those from Red Bull GasGas Tech3) as well as test riders were on track.
When asked by the official MotoGP website if the manufacturer had worked with a new frame delivered to the test riders in Jerez, team manager Francesco Bagnaia remained secretive. However, he confirmed that Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaró are working on something different:
“With the factory riders, we are working on short-term goals. With Dani and Pol, we are working on a different type of project for the medium term. Therefore, this is something we still want to keep confidential until we make a decision one way or the other.”
After four Grand Prix races, KTM is in second place in the Constructors’ World Championship, 38 points behind Ducati, and has only missed the podium once. In the team standings, Red Bull KTM is in fifth place, just ahead of Red Bull GasGas Tech3. The best rider among the four riding the RC16 is Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) in fourth place.
