The first two wildcard riders for the 2024 MotoGP season with Red Bull KTM are already known. Dani Pedrosa will compete in the Spanish GP, as expected, while Pol Espargaró will return to the track in the Italian GP.
The testing team has identified key dates for the wildcard entries, integrated into the bike development program not only for the rest of this season but also for the upcoming years.
Last year, Pedrosa competed in the Spanish GP at Jerez and the San Marino GP at Misano, impressing by always finishing in the top ten – with fourth places in Misano standing out. Now, he will race again in Jerez from April 26 to 28.
As for Espargaró, after retiring at the end of the 2023 season, he will make a comeback. The Spaniard has become a test rider, and the Italian GP at Mugello from May 31 to June 2 will be his first race since taking on his current role at KTM.
It is worth noting that there will be official tests on the Monday after the Grand Prix in both Jerez and Mugello, making these wildcard entries very natural for KTM. The other test during the season will be in Misano in September.
