Details continue to emerge about the severe financial crisis at KTM AG, which has billions of euros in debt owed to over a thousand creditors across various countries worldwide.
According to Der Standard, most creditors are located outside Austria: Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Myanmar, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
In total, there are approximately 1,630 creditors, including nearly 180 banks to which KTM AG owes nearly €800 million. The debts also involve its subsidiaries KTM F&H and KTM Components.
These liabilities span diverse sectors, including suppliers, municipal and governmental institutions, insurance companies, and even restaurants, hotels, bakeries, and coffee suppliers.
It is a delicate situation for KTM AG, now undergoing a restructuring process aimed at restoring financial stability. Another 500 layoffs are expected, adding to the 250 already carried out.
