Kay de Wolf emerged as the winner of the MXGP of West Nusa Tenggara in the MX2 World Motocross Championship. The championship leader won both races this Sunday in Indonesia with authority, strengthening his title aspirations.

Sacha Coenen (Red Bull KTM) took the holeshot in the first race but didn’t hold onto the lead for long: he was sixth at the end of the first lap, with Simon Längenfelder (Red Bull GasGas) in the lead and de Wolf (Nestaan Husqvarna) in second, while Mikkel Haarup (Monster Energy Triumph) was third.

The positions remained unchanged at the front until Längenfelder made a mistake on the eighth lap, allowing de Wolf and Haarup to pass him. Once in the lead, de Wolf was never overtaken, although he was under pressure from Haarup and even made a mistake towards the end. The Dutch rider won with a 2.638-second lead over Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM), who took advantage of Haarup’s error on the last lap to pass him. Längenfelder finished sixth.

Once again, Sacha Coenen took the holeshot in the second race, but this time he maintained the lead for half the distance, with de Wolf as his pursuer until the Dutchman found a way to overtake on the eighth lap.

At that point, there were nine minutes and two laps remaining, but de Wolf was never surpassed and secured the victory. However, he finished under intense pressure from Lucas Coenen (Nestaan Husqvarna), who trailed by just 0.745 seconds. Sacha Coenen was consistently among the top three but lost third place to Adamo on the final lap. Haarup finished fifth.

In the overall standings, de Wolf took the maximum score with 50 points, eight more than Adamo. Lucas Coenen completed the podium with 36 points, as did Haarup in fourth. Sacha Coenen rounded out the top five of the MXGP of West Nusa Tenggara in MX2.
