Friday of the Spanish Moto3 GP was dominated by José Antonio Rueda. This afternoon, he led the session in Jerez by a considerable margin, after doing the same in the first morning free practice.

The Spanish rider from Red Bull KTM Ajo is in excellent form and occupied the top positions early on. But it was only three minutes from the end that he set the best time of 1m43.770s.

Rueda was just 60 thousandths of a second away from the official circuit record in the category. His teammate, Álvaro Carpe, was again second, 0.042s behind, with Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia) in third. The top five was completed by Ryusei Yamanaka (Frinsa-MT Helmets-MSi/KTM) and Jacob Roulstone (Red Bull KTM Tech3).

The session was decisive for determining the 14 riders who directly advanced to the second qualifying phase. In 14th, Joel Esteban (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar/KTM) was the last to make it through to Q2, beating David Almansa (Leopard Racing/Honda) by just 0.029s.
