After the MotoGP Spanish GP, it’s time to look at the championship standings after four rounds. And the leader continues to be Jorge Martín, while Miguel Oliveira moved up.
The Prima Pramac Spaniard recorded the first retirement of the season, but the victory in the Sprint race and the points lead allowed him to maintain the championship lead. However, the margin is smaller: Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) moved up to second with the return to victories and is 17 points behind Martín.
Enea Bastianini (Ducati) dropped to third, 22 points off the top, while Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) is fourth, 23 points off the top after his worst result so far. Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) dropped from third to fifth, while Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) climbed to sixth.
Fabio Quartararo remains the best Monster Energy Yamaha rider, now in 12th, while on Honda the best is Joan Mir. The Repsol Honda Spaniard is in 16th place. Dani Pedrosa (Red Bull KTM) was a wildcard in Jerez and the seven points scored allowed him to place 18th as the best of the sporadic participants.
As for Oliveira, the Portuguese Trackhouse Racing rider had his best Grand Prix of the year so far. The ten points scored in Jerez allowed him to move up one place in the World Championship, now in 13th, just 11 points off the top ten.
