After the Americas GP of MotoGP, it’s time to take a look at the championship standings. Jorge Martín remains in the lead of the championship just like before, although his margin has slightly increased. Miguel Oliveira is 14th, just like before this round.
After the Austin round, the Prima Pramac Spaniard reached 80 points, having 21 more than Enea Bastianini (Ducati) – who moved up to second after another podium. The winner of the two American races, Maverick Viñales (Aprilia), is now in third 24 points from the top, followed by rookie Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM).
Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) once again lost points to the main rivals and dropped to fifth place, being 30 points off the lead. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) is in sixth, while Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) is eighth after the first retirement of the year.
The best Monster Energy Yamaha rider remains Fabio Quartararo, in 12th. Miguel Oliveira (Trackhouse Racing/Aprilia) finished 11th in Austin and remains in 14th in the championship, now with 13 points – compared to the seven of the three rivals immediately behind. One of them is Joan Mir (Repsol Honda), who in 17th is the best Honda rider in the World Championship.
