One of the riders without a contract for the 2025 MotoGP season is the current championship leader, Jorge Martín. He is currently with Pramac and wants to make the leap to the Ducati factory team – a desire that will not be easy to fulfill.
Also, Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) aims for that spot, as well as its current holder, Enea Bastianini. Therefore, one of the three will have to look for alternatives if they want to be in a factory team next year.
During a press conference, Martín was asked about the possibility of going to Aprilia, from where Aleix Espargaró will leave to retire. The vice-champion from last year replied:
– It doesn’t make sense to start thinking about what may or may not be a good option. Now we have to wait, so until that moment it’s difficult. It is true that it seems that European brands are really in good shape, Aprilia and KTM. And it is also true that Honda and Yamaha will come in time. So, let’s wait and see. But there are very competitive options.
