Jorge Martín once again did not secure a spot in the Ducati factory team in MotoGP in 2024, despite fighting for this year’s title until the end with Francesco Bagnaia. The manufacturer chose to keep faith in Enea Bastianini, who had a season heavily marked by injuries.
Despite acknowledging the adversities that the Italian faced, the vice-world champion was not pleased with not being promoted, even downplaying Bastianini’s sole victory in 2023. Martín told the newspaper AS:
– It bothers me that it’s never enough. I don’t know what I have to do to show more. I understand that Enea had a tough year, but he raced 14 or 15 times and won one because he put the front tire pressure at 1.2 bar. That’s how I could win too.
