Ducati has a tough choice to make in terms of MotoGP riders for 2025. Francesco Bagnaia is confirmed until 2026, but then there is a second spot with several strong candidates.
Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) leads the championship, was runner-up last year, and wants to move to a factory team next year – ambitions more than legitimate considering his results.
On the other hand, Marc Márquez is returning to good performances and good results in this switch from Repsol Honda to Gresini – already a regular podium contender despite riding last year’s version of the Ducati.
Then there’s Enea Bastianini, who is currently Bagnaia’s teammate at Ducati and has also been performing well. But, especially Martín and Márquez, are riders that are very difficult to let go.
Jorge Lorenzo rode for Ducati and worked with general manager Gigi Dall’Igna. In an interview with DAZN, the former rider anticipated what the Borgo Panigale manufacturer might do:
– I think Dall’Igna is very intelligent, very cunning, and will try to keep all three. To do so, he will put Martín in red and Márquez with a bike equal to Pecco’s, but in a satellite team.
