With Francesco Bagnaia secured until 2026, Ducati still has to define the other rider for the factory team in MotoGP in 2025. Currently, the spot belongs to Enea Bastianini, but there are many talents linked to the manufacturer – starting with the vice-world champion Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati), who has already made it clear that he wants to reach a factory team next year whether it’s with Ducati or not.
Jorge Lorenzo highlighted on DAZN that the manufacturer from Borgo Panigale will have to decide and give up some quality riders, emphasizing that there is also the issue of Marc Márquez – currently with Gresini:
– Ducati has the cards in hand. It has had the best bike for three years and also has options to choose from. It’s more about having to discard great riders. It could be [Franco] Morbidelli or it could be Jorge if they don’t choose him for the official team. Jorge has already given his ultimatum and we have to see if Enea is willing to take a demotion and return to a satellite team in order to keep a talent like Enea also at Ducati. What do they want to do with Márquez? Is Ducati really going to put all its chips on Márquez, or not really?
