KTM has added Pol Espargaró to its lineup of MotoGP test riders, but Jonas Folger will continue in these roles – which he took on last year. Dani Pedrosa will also have these functions.
The confirmation came from the German himself, quoted by the website SPEEDWEEK.com: ‘I am very happy to be part of the KTM test team in 2024 and to be able to expand our cooperation even further if possible. It will be an intense year, but I am looking forward to the tasks ahead and I am highly motivated to face them. I will do my best to continue improving as a test rider and to always be in the best possible shape for any races so that I can meet the expectations placed on me. A big thank you to everyone who has trusted me with these highly important tasks‘.
Folger will mainly ride the KTM RC16, but will also participate in other projects of the Pierer Mobility Group. In 2023, he was called in as a substitute for the injured Espargaró at GasGas Tech3 in several rounds.
