Johann Zarco has described Honda’s new carbon fibre swingarm as one of the most promising upgrades to the RC213V, following his first outing with the part during MotoGP’s official test at MotorLand.

After months of private development with test rider Aleix Espargaró, Honda finally rolled out the swingarm for use in an official session, with both Zarco and Joan Mir putting it through its paces.

‘It was the most interesting part we tested’, said Zarco, who finished 17th fastest. ‘It brought a clear performance gain. We’ll still need to wait a bit before using it on a race weekend’.

According to the Frenchman, the new component delivered improvements in both acceleration and braking: ‘We got much better control of rear grip. Straight away, the lap times came down’.

Despite the promising performance, availability remains a hurdle. ‘It will take some time to have enough of them. I think we’ll only see it for the overseas rounds’.

This update may prove pivotal in helping Honda turn around what’s been a difficult season. However, other developments tested in Aragon remain under wraps.

‘We’ve also been trying some very technical parts we already tested in Jerez. These could open important doors for 2026’, Zarco added, declining to give further details.
