Despite his final effort, Johann Zarco saw the sixth position denied to him by ‘five meters’ in the last MotoGP Grand Prix, which took place this Sunday in Japan. The organization’s decision was based on two major details, namely: first because the Frenchman did not go through the pits five minutes after falling and secondly because he did not enter the correct side during the “pit-lane”.
The decision left the Frenchman irritated. ‘I had no chance. As the wheels were still on the bike, I started sliding. The first laps, when the track wasn’t very wet, went well. When it started raining, it wasn’t easy to find my rhythm, but I continued to be fast and managed to recover several positions. Apparently, I pushed the bike five meters beyond the 60 km/h line at the entrance of the pits…‘, disappointedly said the Pramac man.
Zarco, who has two Moto2 World Championships in 2015 and 2016 on his resume, occupies sixth place in the overall classification of the premier category with 162 points. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) is the leader with 319 points, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) is in second place with three points less, and Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati) is in third place with 265 points.
