Joan Mir was the second best of the Japanese bikes in the MotoGP Qatar GP, crossing the finish line in 13th place – two positions behind Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha).
The Repsol Honda rider talked about the battle in the “Japanese cup” and admitted that the other rivals are far behind at this point. Additionally, he admitted that he did not have the best approach:
– The others… they are far away. But the good thing is that we finished ahead of many bikes that are more competitive than ours. This is what we need to find at this moment. The 11th place would have been the best we could do in this race. Just that – trying to control the tires a bit more in the last five laps, as I made a mistake overtaking Fabio, and then lost two seconds in the last two laps. That’s what I need to learn for the next races. We will maintain this intensity, this level, and move on to the next race.
