The AMA Pro Motocross season started this Saturday at Fox Raceway National in Pala Pala, with dominating victories from Jett Lawrence (450MX) and Haiden Deegan (250MX).
In the main category, 450MX, Jett Lawrence (Team Honda HRC) took the holeshot and led from start to finish in the first race, with a margin that gradually grew. He finished 5.058s ahead of teammate Hunter Lawrence, who moved up to second after overtaking Aaron Plessinger halfway through the race. The Red Bull KTM rider finished third, ahead of teammate Chase Sexton.
The second race was not much different. Hunter Lawrence took the holeshot, but it was Jett Lawrence who led at the end of the first lap and never looked back. However, he faced closer competition, winning with just 1.349s ahead of Sexton. Hunter Lawrence finished third, followed by Jason Anderson (Monster Energy Kawasaki). In the overall standings of the two races, Jett Lawrence was the winner with 50 points, compared to Hunter Lawrence’s 42 points. Sexton closed the podium with 40 points.
In 250MX, Tom Vialle (Red Bull KTM) took the holeshot in the first race and led the first three laps before being overtaken by Levi Kitchen. The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider was in the lead for most of the race, but Deegan (Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing) passed him two laps from the end and won with a 7.278s lead. Chance Hymas (Team Honda HRC) finished third and Vialle was sixth.
The second race was dominated by Deegan, who made the holeshot and never lost the lead. Kitchen was his main opponent, finishing 1.912s behind. Vialle, in third, was more than half a minute behind, with Hymas finishing fourth. With 50 points, Deegan was the overall winner, with six more points than Kitchen. Vialle scored 38 points and finished third, tied with Hymas.
