The small manufacturer from Goshen, Indiana, revealed a few days ago the prototype of the Gryffin 450 Scrambler, a model that, according to Janus’ stylistic characteristics, stands out for its retro taste and lightness. In fact, it weighs 150 kg and is practically handmade, with the aluminum tank and seat made by hand. Most of the components are manufactured internally or by local artisans, many of whom are part of the Amish community. Another Janus signature is the Earles-type front suspension that immediately takes us back to the 1930s scene.
Equipping the Gryffin 450 – which joins the Gryffin 250 and Halcyon 250 and 450 in the range – is a 445 cc single-cylinder engine that we know well because it is the same as the SWM, also used in the Six6. The power is about 30 hp and, thanks to the reduced weight, ensures a lot of fun. Like all Janus models, the Gryffin also allows for a high level of customization. Hundreds of color combinations for fairings can be chosen, as well as numerous accessories such as leather bags, motocross footrests, and much more.
On her YouTube channel, Janus shares some videos dedicated to the making of this motorcycle and we are sharing them below for those who enjoy learning more about this beautiful story.
