What a race Jake Dixon has just had in Moto2 for the Argentinian GP! The Briton moved to the front early on and never relinquished it, leading the race at Termas de Río Hondo from start to finish, controlling events, and always pushing hard, to take victory by a wide margin!

Everything was in place for the start of the Moto2 race in Argentina, with Manuel González starting from pole position and joined by Jake Dixon and Marcos Ramírez on the front row, while Álex Escrig, Diogo Moreira and Filip Salac made up the second row.

González had a strong start and made the most of his qualifying position, but Dixon would move into the lead shortly afterwards. Ramírez was third, Salac fourth and Celestino Vietti fifth, but he was beaten by Áron Canet, who dropped the Italian to sixth.

In the opposite direction was Adrián Huertas, who crashed early on, at the end of the first sector, and was thus out of the race.

Salac, meanwhile, was on the attack and beat Ramírez and then González to second place, thus confirming his gain of four positions. Among the riders in the top ten, only Canet, with five positions, had gained the most places. Izán Guevara was 12th and had recovered 11 positions, while Escrig, 14th, had lost 10.

With three laps completed, Darryn Binder was the next to beat Vietti, who dropped to seventh. Guevara was already tenth.

In the fight for second place, González gave Salac his manoeuvre and was back in second place, but more than five tenths behind Dixon.

Dixon was on fire and twice in a row he set the fastest lap in the GP, the last time in 1:42.042s, and then improved to 1:41.840s. González, just behind, was lapping in 1:41.997s.

Moreira, meanwhile, went to the team garage with problems with the front of his bike, but eventually returned to action.

And four times in a row Dixon set the fastest lap, now in 1:41.639s. The Briton from ELF Marc VDS Racing Teams had a 1.071s lead over González. Canet was already third and Ramírez fourth, ahead of Salac who rounded off the top five for the time being.

With a third of the race done, that was the top ten:

The race was on and soon reached the halfway point and Dixon was in control ahead of González, while the fight for third place was hot and with negative news for Marc VDS: Salac in a fight with Ramírez ended up on the ground after trying to overtake the #24 on the inside at turn 5.

With this fall Vietti was promoted to fourth, and Binder was now fifth. Dixon was 1.9s ahead of González, and Vietti was now the new third-placed rider after beating Canet, who saw the Italian 0.102s behind.

And the fight for third was raging, with Vietti going wide and Canet not faltering, thus passing the #13 and reaching the podium places.

The battle between Canet and Vietti had a new chapter, with the Spaniard being overtaken once again with five laps to go.

With three laps to go, only disaster could prevent Dixon from winning at Termas de Río Hondo. The Briton had a 3.6s lead over González. Vietti was 0.324s ahead of Canet.

Unsurprisingly, Dixon confirmed his victory, which he achieved in categorical fashion!
