Jorge Martín was the MotoGP World Championship runner-up last year, only being beaten on the final round of the season by Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). However, he once again did not secure a spot in the official team of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer, remaining in the satellite Prima Pramac Racing team – despite having factory equipment.

The rider, who currently leads the championship, has made it clear that he wants to be in an official team in 2025, whether it’s with Ducati or not. Pramac itself has admitted that Martín’s continuity beyond this year is not guaranteed.

Jaime Alguersuari discussed the matter on the Dura La Vita podcast, admitting that he understands the frustration of the Spanish rider – especially after the signing of Fermín Aldeguer by Ducati:

– You have to be fair, Martín says «I’ve had enough, I’m winning, I don’t have the official bike although it seems like I do… and they talk about [Marc] Márquez, [Pedro] Acosta, and not about me and I’m winning». The signing of an 18-year-old may have bothered Jorge while he is there winning.

It won’t be easy for Martín to secure a place in Ducati’s official team in 2025. Enea Bastianini is nearing the end of his contract, but so far, he’s showing good performance in the new season – as is Marc Márquez, who is a naturally desirable target and seems to maintain the skills to fight at the front now that he has left Repsol Honda to join Gresini… riding a Ducati.
