Good conditions, straights, and intense braking zones. This is how Jack Miller looks at the track that will host the next round of the MotoGP world championship in India, although he clarifies that he has to properly visit the track. The first impressions of what he saw are positive, and the desire is to achieve a good result to start this phase of the season in Asia.
Before the round, the KTM rider spoke with the journalists present at the circuit: ‘I’m here in India for the first time. I haven’t been to the track yet, we will go this afternoon to take a look but everything seems fine. I’m looking forward to getting on the track, to race’.
Asked about his preparation for an unknown track, and if he used a simulator, the Australian said: ‘I haven’t had the chance yet, I will see more later and that’s it. I don’t play video games. I don’t sit around making videos and all those things, it’s not my habit’.
Miller then spoke about the weather forecasts and his first impression of the track when viewing some images: ‘The conditions? They are good. A little bit of sun in the middle of summer? I’m not complaining. Especially if they are predicting 42ºC on Sunday, so I don’t have to worry about water on the track and it will be less stressful. They showed us an overall view via drone last week and, from the outside and from my point of view, it looks good to me. It’s fantastic to have another track and I can’t wait to start. I will take a walk so I don’t get lost tomorrow. The facilities we have here are fantastic’.
And he believes that due to the layout of the track and the characteristics of the KTM, a good result may be on the cards: ‘There are many straights and tight corners and I feel like it’s a track where I should do well. Our bike works well with intense braking and has good top speed. I hope we have a good weekend and can make the most of what we learned in testing and start this phase of the championship with a good result’.
