Jack Miller (and KTM) are ready to start the season. The Australian was pleased with how the preseason went, saw the bike improve, and believes it is ready to go, although he says he can still make some changes, small adjustments to the setup, to make it even better.
When analyzing the second day of testing in Qatar, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider said: ‘It was a positive last day here, I’m very happy with where we are with the bike. The weather was stupid again, Pecco [Bagnaia] did 1m50s. I’m happy with where we are. I made some changes to the setup and I think we are in a good place to start the season, I feel good and I’m looking forward to coming back here and doing it all over again, but this time for real’.
If his main job on the second day was more related to the race, the Australian confirmed: ‘Yes, it was basically all about the races, just trying to play with the setup, like the wheelbase and things like that. I think we got what we needed, maybe we need to adjust some things as always, us motorcycle riders are always complaining about something. There are some areas where we can try to improve a little bit, but I’m quite satisfied with the lap times’.
Still, he believes it is possible to do even better, although he says the overall package is already very competitive:
– I wanted a little more, I made a little mistake, it’s always tricky with the dusty line. Even on the outside, if you make a small mistake, it’s very difficult to get back on the line, but overall, it was a good test. It’s been a good preseason, the guys did a fantastic job during the winter, with the improvements we made and I think we have a very competitive bike for the races.
