Ivo Lopes has already won the Spanish Superbikes championship title and not even that slows him down, as this past weekend at the Barcelona circuit he once again showed his skills by achieving a double victory.
In the first race, the Portuguese rider, who started in second place on the front row of the grid and races with the BMW EASYRACE Team colors, beat Steven Odendaal (New2 Proejct) by almost 12s, with Oscar Gutierrez (Team Honda LaGlisse) taking the final spot on the podium.
Tito Rabat (TR53 Racing Team), with many years of experience in MotoGP, was the first to miss out on the top three, finishing fourth, with Roman Ramos (Kawasaki Palmeto PL Racing) in fifth.
In the second race, Lopes started in first and dominated from start to finish, controlling the events, with Unai Orradre (Team Honda LaGlisse) in second and Odendaal in third, this time.
Gutierrez and Ramos closed access to the top five.
This round ended another weekend of competition in Spain showing that he is a pilot of a different caliber.
