The MotoGP season hasn’t been easy for Aleix Espargaró. After five rounds, he still hasn’t secured any podium finishes in main races (he was third in the Sprint race at the Qatar GP), while his Aprilia teammate, Maverick Viñales, already has a victory.
At the French GP, he finished ninth, although he had been in podium positions at times. Looking at the veteran’s results, one might think that the feelings with the RS-GP aren’t the best, but that’s not the reality.
During the weekend at Le Mans, Espargaró assured the press that he feels he has shown the speed to achieve much better results, although he hasn’t yet achieved the coveted podium:
– The feeling is that the bike is working well. I know I have to prove it by finishing on the podium. I have the feeling that I have the speed, but for one reason or another, I was not able to put the bike on the podium yet. No excuses, keep working, but I think the speed is there and we are proving more or less in every round.
