Enea Bastianini admitted the limitations he faced on Sunday, pointing to vibrations and front-end lock-ups as insurmountable obstacles in a race where he was never able to attack.

Italian rider Enea Bastianini, now riding for Tech3/KTM, admitted after Sunday’s race that the feeling on the bike never allowed him to perform at the desired level. Despite a promising morning session, he faced the same issues as the day before.

Asked by the press whether he was satisfied with his performance, he was blunt: ‘No. So this fight about the feeling, no. Because, was the same of Saturday race. But this Sunday morning, I was faster. And I understand, okay, when it’s cold, I can push more. And this is a good thing to know, and, I think the team can check what’s changed.’

Bastianini explained that even with no setup changes, the afternoon race was compromised: ‘For the afternoon race, I was with the same vibration and with the same locking of always, and this is a limit. Because when you need to fight with the other guys, you need to be aggressive on entry, and, I can’t be aggressive.’

The persistent issues with front-end feel made the race both frustrating and unsafe: ‘Well, it’s been very, very difficult. The race always on the limit, always with many, many lockings from the front and, well, it’s not beautiful to ride like this.’
