Italjet continues to reveal details of the Dragster 700 Twin, which promises to be a model unlike any other. Is it a scooter or not? The answer depends on who you ask. What is certain is that it is now available for pre-order.
The specifications of the model suggest a motorcycle, but its design lines point to a scooter. So, what kind of vehicle is it? The answer was given by Italjet’s CEO, Massimo Tartarini, quoted by RideApart.com: ‘We don’t like to call it a scooter, but ultimately the end user will decide whether they see it as a scooter or a motorcycle’.
With a twin-cylinder engine supplied by Benelli, the Dragster 700 Twin can reach speeds of up to 190 km/h. Its maximum power is 68 hp at 8,500 rpm, while the maximum torque is 70 Nm. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The announced price is 12,900 euros.
There is also a Factory Limited Edition, with even more exciting features: Öhlins steering damper and rear monoshock, dedicated decoration, Akrapovic titanium exhaust, and DucaBike clutch cover. It will cost 14,900 euros, but only 700 units will be produced worldwide.
Pre-orders have been open since Friday (July 12), via this link. The production version of the Dragster 700 Twin will only be available after the Limited Edition.
