Marc Márquez once again showed that he is one of the specialists at the Circuit of the Americas, securing third place on the grid for the MotoGP Americas GP. He was the top Ducati rider, ahead of two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
The Gresini man stated in a quick interview with the official broadcast: ‘Of course, qualifying is one of the most important moments of the weekend, and starting from the front row will make it a bit easier to have a chance to fight with the front riders‘.
After this qualifying session, Márquez talked about an improvement trajectory since yesterday: ‘Yesterday was tough. Today I’m a bit closer. We still need to understand some things that I tried in FP2, let’s see if they are better for the race pace or not. But at the moment I feel better and better, I improved during the weekend, and that’s the most important thing‘.
In qualifying, the six-time world champion in the premier class was only behind two riders – Maverick Viñales (Aprilia), who took pole position; and Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM), who will start from second.
