Last Thursday, Danilo Petrucci suffered significant injuries due to a fall while training in motocross. The World Superbike rider fractured a jaw, a collarbone, and a shoulder, and has already undergone surgery. However, the recovery will be long and will require another surgery.
The Italian from Barni Spark Racing Team took to social media to update on his health status. In a post accompanied by a picture in the hospital, it can be read:
– During a motocross training on the Cingoli track, I lost control of the bike before a jump, and so instead of braking, the bike accelerated… I jumped high and fell to the ground. It was one of the scariest falls of my life. I broke some teeth, the jaw in two parts, a collarbone, and a shoulder, as well as several cuts on the skin. Thank you for all the messages, I hope to smile again soon.
On Saturday, Petrucci wrote a new update: ‘Today I will try to eat again… I have never done it through a syringe. […]. I can’t write and speak well, but I am improving and next time I will be operated on the collarbone. Thanks again to those who are with me‘.
The next round of the WSBK is just a week away in Assen, so Petrux’s absence is more than guaranteed. Then, he will have about two months to recover until the next race, scheduled for mid-June.
