Every day that passes, Pedro Acosta continues to impress in his debut season in MotoGP. After achieving his first podium in Portugal, this Saturday at the Americas GP he made his debut in the top three of a qualification: he was second in Austin.
A truly impressive journey by the rookie, who in a quick interview with the official broadcast did not hide his great satisfaction with this result:
– Well, I am quite happy with this. After all, these guys [the team] are working hard to achieve these things. But, anyway, this weekend was important for us to see what we can do on a new and very difficult track like this.
Acosta also revealed that he made changes for the Sprint race: ‘Let’s see in the Sprint. We made some changes compared to Portugal to be able to fight for something. So, we will try‘.
With this qualifying result, the Spanish rider from Red Bull GasGas Tech3 will start from second in both races of the Americas GP. He was 0.328s behind the pole position holder, Maverick Viñales (Aprilia).
