Josep García, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider, delivered a spectacular performance in front of his home crowd at the second round of the 2025 EnduroGP World Championship. The Spaniard secured a flawless double victory in the Enduro1 category and a commanding EnduroGP win on Saturday, taking the championship lead.

‘To be honest, it was a perfect weekend of racing for me. It feels great to have my fitness back and to be racing at 100%’, stated García, visibly satisfied with his performance on Spanish soil. After winning Friday night’s Super Test, the KTM rider entered Saturday’s racing full of confidence and immediately set the pace, leading the first two tests.

Despite a small mistake in the first Cross Test that allowed his rivals to close the gap, García demonstrated his speed in remarkable fashion: ‘Saturday everything went perfectly and I was able to take the win with a big advantage’. The Spaniard was the fastest in all six remaining tests of the day, securing the overall victory by almost 50 seconds over the second-place finisher.

Torrential rain overnight and into Sunday morning brought fresh challenges, with a delayed start, altered schedule, and water-logged terrain. García adapted quickly, once again setting the early pace and holding the lead for much of the day. ‘Sunday, I was really enjoying riding in the mud and was leading for most of the day and built up a big gap of about 30 seconds’, explained the rider.

However, a costly error in the penultimate test saw his lead slashed to just 0.06 seconds heading into the final Cross Test. ‘Then in the cross test, I jumped a container and clipped my foot on the top and ended up going over the bars’, recounted García. Despite giving his all, the Spaniard posted a time just under 1.5 seconds shy of eventual day two winner Andrea Verona and had to settle for second place overall. ‘It was tough not to take the win, but I finished second overall, first in the class with good points, and now look ahead to the next round’, concluded the Spaniard.
