In what was his second podium in the space of three rounds, Fabio Quartararo finished the MotoGP Indonesian Grand Prix in third place. The rider fought for a top three finish throughout the race in Mandalika, after starting from fourth.
The Frenchman from Monster Energy Yamaha said in a press conference that it was a good race for him, managing to overcome the difficulties with the rear tire to have a stronger final part:
– It was great, especially in the second part of the race. To be honest, even in the warm-up with the medium tire, the feeling was not good – especially in the first few laps. On the warm-up lap, I pushed hard on the rear tire to make it really turn, because I was having a lot of trouble warming up the tire. Then, after two or three laps, it was good, but our pace in the second part of the race was good. Unfortunately, I couldn’t try an overtaking move, but I think it was a great race for us. I think at one point in the race I was 3.5s behind Pecco [Bagnaia] and ended up very close. So, it was great for us.
