Marc Márquez finished the Sprint race in second position. A very positive result for the Spanish rider who continues to show signs of improvement from GP to GP.
The Gresini Racing MotoGP™ rider spoke about the sensations he had during the race in the debrief.
– All the riders are starting very well. It was a good start for me, it was a combination of concentration, luck, risk, and instinct. The most important thing for me was the pace I had throughout the race because I never had it during the weekend. I am very happy with this pace. I am angry with myself for the Q1 and I was not convinced. With this bike behind someone, I feel uncomfortable, but the main reason was my mistake.
Asked about the improvements today, Marc replied: ‘We returned to our base from yesterday. We looked at some data from Enea, Pecco, and Martín because I did not know this circuit as well as they did on this bike and adjusted the electronics based on this which helped me to be smoother. Rain can sometimes be our best friend or the worst, I don’t know. But repeating today’s start will be impossible. Tomorrow there are three/four riders who are very fast, Pecco, Martin, Maverick, plus Bastianini, so it will be very difficult tomorrow, but everything is open.’
He also added about the differences between the 23/24 versions: ‘I don’t know what happened with Pecco, it seemed like he didn’t have the active front launch device. I don’t feel a big difference from their version to ours. What I feel is the way of riding the bike, it’s completely different. Tomorrow my plan starts after the first lap, I won’t attack like today, it also depends on the weather.’
